MEET FARID

ACTING FUNNY

Farid Yazdani’s show, Day Players, debuted on Image Killer’s YouTube channel recently.

Name: Farid Yazdani. Farid is actually an Arabic name – it translates to unique. I’ll have to say, it’s quite a fitting name!

Currently: Our show, Day Players, debuted on Image Killer’s YouTube channel recently. It is the story of six egomaniacal actors taking the world’s worst acting class. It’s a show that dives deep into some of the worst traits in the human species and their relationships with one another. It’s a dark comedy that I think the audience will resonate with.

My life in about 50 words: Chaotic and aspirational. I’ve always been a big dreamer, which is both a fault and a positive trait. I’ve never been complacent and I’ve always aimed for more. Being an actor can be a very difficult path as you can face a lot of rejection. The need for thick skin is a must. Luckily, I have a very supportive partner who has made my aspirations even higher.

The actor in me took flight: When I was in grade eight. My teacher had mentored me into applying to an arts school, Cawthra Park. To this day, I credit Mr. John Roots for sparking my career as an actor

Favourite sportsperson: Joe Sakic – one of my favourite hockey players of all time.

Favourite writer: Rumi.

Favourite activities: Muay Thai and Spin.
