TEEN LEADER WANTS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Miss Teenage Peel Jiya Kaemra says she wants to use her title to advocate against substance abuse in teenagers. She co-founded a student-led organization called Tea not Tequila to build awareness and educate youth in Peel ages 12-18 on the negative health impacts of underage drinking. She also volunteers with various food banks, charities and other community organizations.

At school, she is Debate President, Interact Rotary Club President, FBLA Executive and an active member of DECA and HOSA. She has won numerous awards and has been dancing since the age of five and has performed in various shows all across Canada as part of Shiamak Davar’s advanced dance team for several years.
