Anvesana is a digital dance festival festival presented by Sampradaya Dance Creations.

The festival celebrates the individual artistry and creative genius of four exceptional artistes presenting four intriguing themes, in four dance forms. The artistes are Bijayini Satpathy performing Odissi, Methil Devika performing Mohiniyattam, Rama Vaidyanathan performing Bharatanatyam, and Aditi Mangaldas performing Kathak.

The festival was commissioned by Sampradaya Dance Creations and ideated and produced by the artistes through the challenging pandemic over the last six months. Anvesana will be airing on the weekends of May 8-9 and May 15-16 on Shaale.com.

FESTIVAL SCHEDULE

Call Of Dawn – Bijayini Satpathy (Odissi). A 2020 Bessie nominee for outstanding performance, Bijayini Satpathy is a critically acclaimed dancer based out of Bangalore. Premiere of Performance: May 8th 2021,  7:30 PM EST. Duration: 45 minutes

Ahalya – Methil Devika (Mohiniyattam). Dr Methil Devika is from Palakkad District in Kerala and is a practitioner, educator and researcher of dance. Premier of Performance: May 9th 2021, 7:30 PM EST. Duration: 45 minutes.

Moving Boundaries – Rama Vaidyanathan (Bharatanatyam). Rama Vaidyanathan is one of the foremost Bharatanatyam dancers of her generation. Premier of Performance: May 15th 2021, 7:30 PM EST. Duration: 45 minutes.

Lost..in the forest!– Aditi Mangaldas (Kathak). Aditi Mangaldas is a leading dancer and choreographer in the classical Indian dance form of Kathak. Premier of Performance: May 16th 2021, 7:30 PM EST. Duration: 45 minutes.
