GOODBYE DRY SKIN!

Skicare essentials are big on my shopping (and browsing!) list. I can’t walk by a display of products promising softer, smoother skin or not click on ads for such products.

The frequency with which they pop up on my phone says a lot about information stored about my buying habits somewhere.

So of course, I had to try Alpha Skin Care’s just-launched 23 oz. jumbo-size bottle of Renewal Body Lotion 12% Glycolic AHA.

“This anti-aging lotion is specially formulated with 12% Glycolic Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) to thoroughly hydrate and gently exfoliate, leaving skin soft, smooth and younger-looking,” I read, and it was a forgone conclusion that I was going to try it.  There must be more like me, I think, many more, because the new jumbo-size bottle was launched to meet customer demand for more value and convenience.

First, the pitch:

“Perfect for all skin types, and free of parabens, sulfates and fragrances, this lotion is specially formulated with the optimal balance of 12% Glycolic Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) and a pH level of 3.8. Glycolic AHA is an ingredient derived from natural sugar cane which helps reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles for a younger-looking you.

“This lotion evens skin tone and texture and will give you an all-day glow.

“Alpha Skin has spent years researching and formulating their products. They follow one simple truth – to use essential, natural ingredients with clinically-proven results to reveal healthy, younger-looking skin. Alpha Skin’s specially selected vitamins and nutrients are combined with anti-ageing ingredients to enhance the benefits you’ll see and feel from the products.”

And now, the experience:

I tried it expecting some tingling but experienced only the mildest sensation, and only for the briefest of moments. It also kept my skin hydrated all day long and that’s really saying something as I normally reapply lotion and cream at least a few times a day to soothe my dry skin.

I read that Alpha Skin is targeting eco-conscious consumers by reducing plastic waste with fewer bottles used over time. One would also need fewer bottles because, well, one would use less. No more going through bottles of lotions and tubs of cream!
